Education First are recruiting an enthusiastic, ambitious and talented Physical Education Teacher for a permanent position at a secondary school in South London, starting January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate PE Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, promote participation in sport and inspire pupils to develop confidence, teamwork and resilience.

The school is particularly interested in candidates with leadership potential and a genuine ambition to progress their careers. An Assistant Principal opportunity is anticipated after the Christmas period, making this an excellent prospect for an aspiring middle or senior leader.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging PE curriculum across the secondary age range, encouraging participation in sport and contributing to the wider development of the school's physical education provision.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons, teach a range of sports and physical activities, promote positive behaviour and sportsmanship, differentiate learning to meet individual needs, assess pupil progress, support extracurricular activities, contribute to curriculum development and work collaboratively with colleagues and school leaders.

The Ideal Candidate

You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), have experience teaching PE at secondary level and demonstrate strong subject knowledge across a range of sports. You should have effective behaviour management skills, the ability to motivate pupils of different abilities, excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Candidates with additional responsibilities, experience leading school initiatives or aspirations to progress into senior leadership are particularly encouraged to apply.
