As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll have the opportunity to work with children in a supportive environment that values quality care and meaningful patient relationships. Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Provide pediatric occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and in accordance with physician-approved treatment plans.
- Implement individualized therapy programs to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, strength, range of motion, mobility, self-care, and functional independence.
- Educate parents and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
- Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and outcomes in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Build positive relationships with children and families while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, state regulations, and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or eligible to obtain licensure before the anticipated start date.
- Pediatric experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for working with children and helping them achieve developmental milestones.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
