We're looking for a Peer Mentoring Tutor to join the education team at HMP Millsike, a brand-new prison near York. This is more than just a job; it's a unique opportunity to help shape the education programme from the ground up, empowering learners to become positive role models within their community.

Work closely with departments like healthcare to ensure peer mentors are prepared to support others during induction and throughout their sentence.

* Full time | 38.5 hours per week
* Schedule:
- 4 full days: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- 1 half-day: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM
* Start date: Spring 2025
* Location: HMP Millsike, near York

You'll deliver Gateway Qualifications in Peer Mentoring up to Level 2, helping learners develop confidence, leadership, and communication skills so they can support their peers through prison life and beyond.

* A Level 3 qualification in Peer Mentoring, Literacy, or a related field
* A teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET) - or willingness to work towards one
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Empathy, resilience, and the ability to motivate diverse learners
* Excellent organisation and problem-solving ability
* A passion for giving others a second chance
