Job Description - Pensions Associate

A leading international law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join its specialist pensions team in London. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of corporate, advisory and contentious pensions matters for a high-profile client base, including major insurers, corporates, and public sector bodies.

The role sits within the firm’s Employment, Pensions, and Incentives (EPI) group and focuses exclusively on pensions-related work, not blended with employment or remuneration matters.

Key Responsibilities

Advising trustees, employers, and scheme administrators on scheme management and compliance
Supporting corporate transactions involving pensions liabilities
Advising on scheme reorganisations, wind-ups, funding issues, and risk management strategies
Contributing to cross-practice pensions litigation and regulatory advice
Drafting scheme documentation and amendments

Ideal Candidate Profile

1.5 –5 years’ PQE, with strong pensions experience from a City or respected regional firm
Good academic background
Clear commitment to private practice and an interest in working on technically complex matters
Strong drafting skills and ability to provide commercially-minded advice
