The Company

Our client, one of the UK's most recognised and largest employers, is seeking a high-calibre Pensions Strategy Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy of their complex pension arrangements. This is an excellent in-house opportunity for a commercially minded, qualified actuary looking to step into a visible and strategic position within this leading FTSE organisation.

The Role

You will work working closely with Trustees and external advisors providing deep actuarial insight and strategic guidance across the group's substantial Defined Benefit (DB) schemes and growing Defined Contribution (DC) arrangements. You'll lead on long-term funding strategy, risk management, regulatory engagement, and governance acting as the internal subject matter expert on all pensions-related matters.

This role will see you shape and drive strategy for both DB and DC schemes, aligned to business and member needs. You'll manage relationships with Trustees, external advisors and partner with internal stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, HR, and Legal providing expert actuarial input into long-term planning, M&A, and regulatory change.

The Candidate

You will be a qualified actuary, AIA or FIA with at least 3 years post-qualified experience with a background in consulting or corporate pensions. You will be able to evidence a deep experience of DB scheme funding, strategy, and risk, with a good understanding of DC governance and development. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence at senior levels with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups, including Trustees and regulators is essential.
