We’re looking for a People & Culture Business Partner to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a dynamic, generalist HR role where you’ll work across the full employee lifecycle from talent acquisition, learning & development, engagement, employee relations and general support while collaborating with our global People & Culture team.
This position will play a key role in creating a vibrant and values led culture in the UK which is paramount to the OES employment value proposition and success. This role will be part of the OES Global People and Culture team and report to the Chief People and Culture Officer based in Melbourne, Australia.
This role is a hybrid position working 2-3 days per week from the Birmingham office is required.

What you’ll be doing:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Manage end-to-end recruitment for UK roles, ensuring a seamless and inclusive hiring experience
Build strong talent pipelines and maintain time-to-hire targets without compromising quality
Deliver exceptional onboarding experiences and conduct check-ins with new starters
Culture & Engagement
Champion a vibrant, values-led culture aligned with our global ethos
Lead engagement initiatives based on survey insights and employee feedback
Regularly review and enhance wellbeing and benefits offerings
Employee Relations & Compliance
Provide expert advice on employee relations in line with UK employment law and ACAS guidelines
Update and implement HR policies, contracts, and practices where required.
Business Partnering & Development
Coach and support line managers to build high-performing, engaged teams
Promote people programs and contribute to organisational development initiatives
Collaborate with global teams to deliver impactful people projects
Remuneration & People Operations
Support UK remuneration reviews and benchmarking
Maintain accurate HR records, leave tracking, and personnel files
Provide administrative support to ensure a smooth employee experience
Office management
Be the key contact for the Birmingham office team regarding the office space. This will involve placing office supply orders and working with the building Management team regarding any repairs/ compliance (e.g. fire safety).
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational organisation.
Demonstrated experience in providing commercially balanced HR related advice across a broad range of people matters.
Able to translate business goals into impactful people strategies that drive performance and growth.
In-depth understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
A CIPD qualification, or substantial progress towards the completion of a tertiary qualification would be desired.
Experience developing and embedding HR policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Ability to balance conflicting priorities.
Experience in supporting annual employee lifecycle events, including talent and renumeration reviews.
Experience in Talent Acquisition at all levels, as well as establishing talent pipelines.
Customer centric, approachable and a team player.
A professional approach to dealing with issues of a confidential nature.
Strong alignment with the OES values.
