Job Description - People Officer

Are you passionate about people operations and ready to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, values-driven environment? We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected not-for-profit organisation seeking a proactive and organised People Officer to join their collaborative People Team.

About the Role

As People Officer, you'll play a vital part in delivering a customer-focused HR service across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the People Advisor, you will provide first-line HR advice, support recruitment activities, manage onboarding and offboarding processes, and contribute to people projects. This is a varied and fast-paced role, perfect for someone who thrives in a hybrid, people-first culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support and first-line guidance to managers and staff.

  • Manage onboarding processes including offer letters, contracts, right-to-work checks, and induction coordination.

  • Support payroll processes and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.

  • Maintain and update the HRIS (Cascade) to ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR.

  • Collaborate on employee engagement initiatives and provide admin support for learning and development activities.

About You

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running as a People Officer. You'll have:

  • Experience in HR administration within a busy, high-volume environment.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks independently.

  • Excellent attention to detail and confidence handling sensitive information with discretion.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with HR systems (Cascade experience is a plus).

  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
