Peripatetic Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant | Dronfield (S18) | £110-£130 per day | Full Time | Interviews Commencing ASAP | Must have a Driving Licence | Start Date: 04/09/2026
Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a specialist Alternative Provision to appoint a Peripatetic Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to support pupils across primary and secondary age ranges. This roaming tutor will deliver personalised one-to-one learning and pastoral support both on and off-site, helping pupils overcome barriers to education, develop confidence, and successfully re-engage with learning. Working closely with families, school staff, and external agencies, you will play a vital role in improving outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people.
About the Role:
Carry out home visits, welfare checks, and transport pupils safely to educational placements, vocational settings, and reintegration programmes where required. Provide tailored one-to-one support for pupils with behavioural needs. This is across Primary and secondary age groups. Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment. Support pupils' academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families to encourage engagement, attendance, emotional wellbeing, and successful reintegration into education. Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies.About you:
You must have a full driving licence and be willing to obtain business insurance. Confident delivering one-to-one support and building positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced significant barriers to education. Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs in a school or youth work setting. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with students. As a home tutor you must be calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenges.
