Job Title: Permanent Speech and Language Therapist – Camberley, Surrey


Banding: Band 5 (Newly Qualified or Limited Experience)
Location: Camberley
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £30-35k per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week


 


Job Overview


We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a specialist educational setting in Camberley, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This school is a nurturing and specialist environment designed to support up to 90 pupils aged 7 to 17 years across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. The school provides tailored education for children with autism and associated conditions, offering small class sizes (maximum of 6 pupils) and a highly supportive team to meet each child’s individual learning needs.


This role is ideal for a newly qualified therapist or someone with limited experience who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. You will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and delivering tailored interventions to help children develop their communication and language skills, enabling them to thrive in their learning environment.


 


Key Responsibilities


In this role, you will:



  • Support the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and complex needs associated with ASC and additional learning difficulties.

  • Deliver individualised therapy plans in collaboration with teaching and clinical teams.

  • Receive clinical supervision from internal Senior Speech and Language Therapists or through externally funded support.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards.

  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and reviews.


 


Qualifications and Experience


To be considered for this role, you must have:



  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

  • A genuine interest in working with children with ASC and SEN.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive and reflective approach to professional development.
