We are currently seeking an experienced Permit Coordinator to join our team on a Clinical & Hazardous Waste Incinerator Project for an initial 4-month contract, with the potential for extension based on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system across the project as it nears the commissioning phaze.
* Ensure all permits are issued, monitored, and closed in accordance with site procedures, project requirements, and health & safety standards.
* Liaise with contractors, supervisors, and project teams to ensure work activities are properly planned, authorised, and executed safely.
* Verify that all required documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), is in place before permits are issued.
* Support compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) by ensuring work activities are appropriately coordinated and undertaken in accordance with project health and safety arrangements.
* Work closely with the Principal Contractor, site management team, and subcontractors to ensure CDM responsibilities and permit requirements are met.
* Maintain accurate permit records and ensure compliance with project procedures and statutory requirements.
* Assist with site audits, inspections, and permit-related reporting, identifying and escalating any safety concerns where necessary.
* Promote a positive safety culture and contribute to continuous improvement in site health, safety, and environmental performance.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Permit Coordinator or Permit-to-Work role on industrial, construction, energy, or process plant projects.
* Good working knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and their application on construction projects.
* Strong understanding of Permit-to-Work systems, high-risk activities, and health & safety legislation.
* Experience reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
* Excellent organisational, communication, and coordination skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple work activities simultaneously.
* Relevant site safety qualifications such as CSCS, CCNSG Safety Passport, or equivalent are desirable.
Contract Details
* Duration: Approximately 4 months, with the potential to extend.
* Rate: Approximately £30 per hour.
* Working Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 10 hours per day
* Friday: 9 hours
