We're looking for a PSD & Employability Tutor to join the education team at a prison near York. This is more than just a job; it's your chance to help individuals develop life skills, grow in confidence, and prepare for a better future beyond prison walls.

The Role: PSD & Employability Tutor

• Full time | 38.5 hours per week
• Salary: Up to £34,700 per annum
• Annual leave: 30 days

You'll deliver Gateway and NCFE qualifications from Entry Level 3 to Level 2, helping learners build confidence, take ownership of their growth, and gain skills for the workplace and life beyond custody.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Deliver engaging PSD & Employability courses tailored to learner needs
• Support learners with scaffolded, adaptive teaching techniques
• Integrate digital and literacy skills into everyday lessons
• Use restorative practices to promote reflection, responsibility, and motivation
• Collaborate with prison teams and external partners to support employment pathways
• Create and manage Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) that reflect learners' goals and progression

What You'll Need:

• A Level 2 qualification in PSD, Employability, or Life Skills
• A teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET) - or willingness to work towards one
• Experience teaching, training, or coaching - ideally in a prison or similar setting
• A solid grasp of literacy, digital skills, and inclusive education practices
• Empathy, resilience, and a belief in the power of personal growth
