Are you an experienced Personal Care Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs?

Aspire People are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Personal Care Teaching Assistants to work across SEN schools in Rochdale, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age groups.

We are looking for candidates who have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and who are confident providing personal care and assisting pupils with complex needs.

The Role
As a Personal Care Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils, teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality care and learning support. Your responsibilities may include:
* Providing personal care and support to pupils in a professional and dignified manner.
* Supporting children with complex and additional needs throughout the school day.
* Assisting pupils with autism and other SEN needs.
* Supporting children who may display challenging behaviour.
* Helping pupils access learning and participate in school activities.
* Supporting pupils with their individual care and educational needs.
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
* Promoting pupils' independence, wellbeing and confidence.
* Following individual care plans and school safeguarding procedures.

The Ideal Candidate
Aspire People are looking for candidates who:
* Have previous experience providing personal care to children or young people.
* Have experience working in an SEN school or with children with Special Educational Needs.
* Have experience supporting children with complex needs.
* Have experience working with children with autism.
* Have experience supporting children who may display challenging behaviour.
* Are confident and comfortable providing personal care.
* Are patient, compassionate and resilient.
* Can build positive relationships with children and young people.
* Can commit to working 5 days per week.
* Have a professional and reliable approach to their work.
* Understand the importance of safeguarding and maintaining children's dignity and wellbeing.

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN.
* Previous personal care experience with children.
* Experience supporting children with complex needs, autism and/or challenging behaviour.
* A DBS on the Update Service.
* References covering your most recent 2 years of employment/experience.
* Availability to work Monday to Friday, 5 days per week.
