Job Description - Personal Injury Department Manager

Role: Personal Injury Department Manager
Location: Sheffield City Centre
Salary: £45,000 to £65,000
Working Pattern: Full-time, Office-Based and Hybrid

CRA Consulting, one of South Yorkshire's most established legal recruitment specialists, are delighted to be working in partnership with a respected and long-standing firm of solicitors based in the heart of Sheffield City Centre. This traditional high street practice has deep historic roots in the Sheffield legal community, with a reputation built on trust, local knowledge, and high standards of client care across generations.

We are currently searching for a skilled and experienced Personal Injury Department Manager to lead and develop the firm's established Personal Injury team.

The Opportunity:
This is a rare leadership role offering genuine influence at a respected Sheffield institution. As the Personal Injury Manager, you'll take ownership of a well-regarded department that handles a mixture of EL/PL, RTA, and high-value PI matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing operational and strategic leadership to a dedicated team of personal injury fee earners and support staff.
  • Driving performance and ensuring consistent, high-quality legal services across the department.
  • Maintaining close oversight of case progression and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Managing a modest caseload of complex, high-value personal injury claims.
  • Playing an active role in firm-wide decision-making and contributing to cross-departmental success.


Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking an individual who is not only technically strong but also commercially aware and passionate about people management.
You will be:

  • A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ years' experience in personal injury litigation.
  • Experienced in supervising teams and implementing performance-focused strategies.
  • Confident, measured, and approachable - a natural team leader.
  • Well-versed in the current personal injury landscape and any upcoming changes in regulation or funding models.
  • Local to the Sheffield area or with a strong interest in relocating to South Yorkshire.
