A leading Cambridge accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join its growing private client team. This role offers the chance to manage a diverse and high-value client portfolio, lead advisory projects, and play a key part in the firm’s continued success.

The Role:

You’ll manage a portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, business owners, partners, landlords, and non-residents. You’ll oversee complex compliance cases, deliver tax planning advice, and work closely with directors and partners to develop client relationships and win new business.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and review a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Advise clients on a range of tax matters, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, residence and domicile, and succession planning.

Identify and deliver tax planning opportunities.

Manage and develop junior tax staff, providing technical support and performance feedback.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted adviser.

Collaborate with other service lines to deliver a joined-up client experience.

Keep up to date with changes in UK personal tax legislation.

About You:

CTA qualified (or equivalent) essential; STEP qualification desirable.

Significant personal tax experience within a professional practice environment.

Proven track record of managing a complex and varied client portfolio.

Strong advisory and technical skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.

Leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team.

Commercial awareness with the ability to spot business development opportunities.
