Personal Tax Manager

TPF Recruitment is recruiting for a Personal Tax Senior to join a highly regarded tax boutique and chartered accountancy practice based near West Malling. This opportunity would suit an experienced Tax Senior or Tax Supervisor looking to take on a hands on role within a well established firm that has an excellent reputation across the Kent market.

You will work in a key personal tax role with the support of a Partner above you and junior support beneath you, giving you real responsibility while still offering strong backing and development.

Our client is an independent tax planning and business consultancy that provides integrated advice to private clients and their businesses. They specialise in advising high net worth individuals, owner managed businesses, property investors and international clients.

The role

• The Personal Tax Senior will be responsible for:
  
• Planning and supervising the preparation of personal tax returns
  
• Managing all aspects of personal tax compliance for a portfolio of clients
  
• Managing your client portfolio to ensure a high standard of service and advice
  
• Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients
  
• Leading weekly planning and scheduling meetings
  
• Supporting, supervising and motivating junior staff
  
• Reviewing work prepared by other team members where appropriate
  
• Liaising with professional bodies and external advisers
  
• Handling ad hoc tax work outside of standard compliance
  
• Maintaining time records and monitoring performance against budgets and fees
  
• Preparing advice letters and supporting with client proposals and presentations
  
• Writing a monthly article for the firm’s website or social media
  
• Providing on the job training to junior team members
  
• Keeping technically up to date
  
  

Requirements

• The successful Personal Tax Senior will be:
  
• ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA qualified or qualified by experience
  
• Experienced within personal tax, ideally with 3 to 5 plus years in a tax role
  
• Comfortable managing their own client portfolio
  
• A strong communicator with a professional and client focused approach
  
• Organised, detail oriented and methodical in their work
