I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-established accountancy firm with a strong regional presence and a reputation for delivering exceptional client service. They are looking to appoint a Personal Tax Senior to join their growing Northampton office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a tax professional seeking a varied role with exposure to personal, partnership, and trust tax work. There is also flexibility for the successful candidate to get involved in corporate tax matters, depending on interest and experience.

• • Manage a portfolio of personal, partnership, and trust tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather information, provide updates, and deliver tax advice.
  • Attend planning meetings with partners to scope and agree on tax work.
  • Coordinate staff allocation and scheduling in collaboration with partners.
  • Maintain regular communication with partners regarding client progress and key developments.
  • Prepare and review tax returns in line with internal procedures and HMRC requirements.
  • Supervise and support junior team members, providing training and reviewing their work.
  • Ensure all client affairs are handled accurately and in compliance with legal and tax regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of final tax computations and returns.
  • Manage the completion of elections and ensure all returns are signed and submitted on time.
  • Maintain and optimise use of tax software systems.
  • Oversee the preparation of P11Ds and PAYE settlement agreements in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Work with managers and partners to identify additional billable work.
  • Promote the firm’s full range of services, including wealth management offerings.
  • Ensure timely billing and assist in chasing outstanding records or returns.
  • Contribute to staffing discussions and resource planning
