Photography Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton
Start Date: September Contract: Full-Time | Temporary (Autumn Term) Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm Pay: £175 – £260 per day (dependent on experience)
Position Overview
A well-established secondary school in the Southampton area is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Photography Teacher to join the team from September for a full-time position throughout the Autumn Term.
This exciting opportunity will involve teaching Photography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some Art lessons included within the timetable. You will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that develop students' technical photography skills, creativity, visual communication and artistic confidence.
The school is looking for a teacher who can foster a positive learning environment while encouraging students to explore and develop their creative talents.

What You Will Be Doing
Teaching Photography across KS3 and KS4 Delivering a small proportion of Art lessons as part of the departmental timetable Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons Developing students' understanding of composition, camera techniques, digital editing and visual storytelling Supporting students in producing high-quality coursework and portfolio work Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress in line with departmental expectations Contributing to a creative and inspiring learning environment Promoting positive behaviour and high standards of student engagement
What We're Looking For
A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or working towards QTS) Experience teaching Photography and/or Art at secondary level Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative education Ability to deliver engaging practical lessons across a range of abilities Confidence in classroom and behaviour management Strong organisational and communication skills A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
