The position involves the care of a baby who will be three months old at the time of the maternity nanny’s start in mid-July 2025. The family seeks a long-term arrangement, ideally lasting until the child begins school. Initially, the role will commence on a part-time basis, with the maternity nanny attending two to three days per week for a few hours a day. This introductory period will support a gradual and gentle transition, allowing trust and familiarity to develop between the nanny, the infant, and the parents. From mid-September 2025, the position will evolve into a full-time role, Monday to Friday, from 7:30am to 5:30pm, as the mother returns to work.

The maternity nanny will be responsible for all aspects of the baby’s care, with particular emphasis on establishing and maintaining a consistent and developmentally appropriate routine. Responsibilities will include preparing and sterilising bottles, managing feeding and sleep schedules, introducing solids in due course, and ensuring the baby’s environment remains clean, calm, and well-organised. A strong understanding of early childhood milestones will be essential, with the ability to implement age-appropriate sensory and developmental activities to support the baby’s growth and wellbeing. Light nursery-related housekeeping—such as tidying, laundering baby clothes, and organising toys—will also be expected.

The family places a high value on hygiene, clear routines, and respectful adherence to cultural and household preferences. The home is fitted with CCTV in selected areas, excluding bathrooms, and the nanny must be fully comfortable operating within such a setting.

This position requires a professional maternity nanny with a proven track record of caring for infants in private households. A gentle, calm demeanour, excellent knowledge of infant care, and confidence in working independently will be essential. Candidates must possess up-to-date paediatric first aid certification, glowing references, and ideally a formal childcare or maternity nursing qualification. Live-out Maternity Nanny duties will include:

• Providing attentive, nurturing care for a three-month-old infant on a long-term basis
  


• Establishing and maintaining a consistent daily routine, including feeds, naps, and play
  


• Preparing and sterilising bottles, managing formula or breast milk feeds
  


• Introducing solids and supporting the weaning process at the appropriate stage
  


• Monitoring and supporting early developmental milestones through age-appropriate sensory and structured activities
  


• Maintaining a calm, hygienic, and organised nursery environment
  


• Undertaking light nursery duties, including baby laundry, tidying toys, and maintaining cleanliness of the child’s belongings
  


• Respecting and adhering to the family’s cultural and household preferences, including hygiene protocols
  


• Communicating professionally and clearly with the parents on the child’s progress and daily routine
  


• Working independently while following parental direction, with flexibility and discretion
  


• Operating comfortably in a household with CCTV (not in private areas)
  


• Demonstrating long-term commitment to the role, ideally until the child begins school
  

Requirements for this Full-Time Maternity Nanny job:

• Extensive experience as a Maternity Nanny, particularly with newborns and twins.
  


• Strong knowledge of newborn care, including feeding, sleep training, and developmental milestones.
  


• First Aid Certificate and an up-to-date DBS check (essential).
  


• Relevant childcare qualifications (highly advantageous).
  


• Reliable, nurturing, and adaptable personality, with a structured yet gentle approach.
  


• Ability to work independently while collaborating with parents
