Martis Search is representing a global, City of London based Commodities and Energy trading company to hire a permanent “Physical Commodity Operations Associate”.

The role reports into a senior Commodity Operations Manager and supports both global Institutional clients and multi-asset class, global Commodity Trading desks.

The company trade high volume Natural Gas and Power, Gasoil, Equities, Emissions, FX, Soft Commodities and Metals trades to global clients.

The team is fully responsible for high volume Physical Commodity Operations that cover:

Physical Commodity Deliveries.
Margin Call processing.
Bespoke Client Reporting.
Related Commodity Operations Project Management.

This is a very busy and high-volume trading environment, with heavy trade flows every-day. The team are collaborative, driven to achieve and take their Operations careers seriously.

Our client is looking for a graduate calibre, ideally someone with a 2:1 in a numerate based subject such as Economics, Mathematics, Engineering etc with a minimum of 1-year’s Commodity Operations experience, who is keen to both work hard, learn and be involved with lots of interesting and complex work-loads.

The management team are supportive and the team is also really sociable and they like to celebrate their hard work, so it is a nice team to work within, as everyone helps each other and genuinely get on.

Our client also likes either strong Excel, or VBA, or SQL, or Python coding experience that can be used to automate Operational processes and process improvement, but this is highly desirable, rather than being mandatory.
The role will initially be x 5 days per week in their London office, with some flexibility to “work-from-home” too, but due to business growth and the role demands, our client prefers people in the office more than being at home.
The role sits within their London office and supports mainly their various global Physical Commodity Trading desks.

Salary

£50 k pa - £70 k pa dependent upon experience plus bonus, pension, healthcare, etc.
