Position: Physics Teacher

A mixed comprehensive school in Manchester is seeking to appoint a Physics Teacher to join its Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that values academic achievement, scientific curiosity, and high-quality teaching.
Physics is a well-established subject within the school, with strong uptake at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to develop analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the physical world.
You will teach Physics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ scientific understanding and investigative skills.
The role includes both theoretical and practical laboratory teaching, helping students build confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations, supporting them in developing strong subject knowledge, mathematical application, and exam technique.
You will work collaboratively within the Science department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Teach Physics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and structured Physics lessons
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations
Assess student work and provide detailed feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Maintain safe laboratory practices and procedures
Contribute to STEM enrichment and departmental development

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Physics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Physics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Physics
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Ability to contribute to STEM or enrichment activities
