Key Responsibilities

Working closely with service teams, Business Development Managers and senior leaders, the Placements Manager is responsible for supporting, and sometimes leading on, parent enquiries, referrals, placements and tribunal-related activity across The Education Group, helping to maximise appropriate placement opportunities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

You will act as a professional first point of contact for parents, carers, local authorities, ICBs and other external stakeholders, ensuring enquiries and referrals are handled sensitively, accurately and progressed efficiently through to placement where appropriate.

You will support the end-to-end referral and placement process, including EHCP conversions, tribunal coordination, placement meetings, annual reviews and other placement-related activity.

As a central source of placements information, you will keep Zoho and other relevant systems accurate and up to date, maintaining clear records of referrals, placements, tribunal activity, stakeholder contacts, correspondence and follow-up actions.

You will monitor and report on referral, placement and service data, identifying trends, demand, conversion rates, tribunal activity and changes in service numbers to support planning, forecasting and decision-making.

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships with parents, carers, local authorities, ICBs and internal colleagues.

* A highly organised approach, with strong administrative skills and the ability to manage processes accurately and efficiently.

* Empathy, professionalism and an understanding of working with families and stakeholders in specialist education, SEND and care environments.

* The ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute effectively as part of a team.

* Good literacy and numeracy skills, with confidence working with data, reports and confidential information.

* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, CRM/database systems such as Zoho, and the ability to learn and use new systems consistently.

* A clear understanding of GDPR, information governance and the importance of handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

* Ability to manage competing priorities, track deadlines and follow through on actions across multiple services and stakeholders.

Desirable

* Experience of working in a customer service or stakeholder-facing environment.

* Experience of working directly with parents, carers and families.

* Experience within children's SEND, specialist education, care or adult disability services.

* Knowledge of EHCP, referral, appeals, annual review and/or tribunal processes.

* Experience completing contracts, placement agreements, variation forms, tenders or framework documentation.
