Planner / Senior Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a growing and well -regarded planning consultancy in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while progressing your career within a supportive and commercially focused team.

This role would suit an ambitious planner looking to take on greater responsibility, develop client relationships, and contribute to high -quality development projects across the South West and beyond.

The Role

You will play a key role in delivering planning advice across a broad range of sectors, including:

• Residential and mixed -use developments
  

• Commercial and employment schemes
  

• Retail and town centre projects
  

• Strategic land promotion
  

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing planning applications from initial instruction through to determination
  

• Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
  

• Providing strategic planning advice to clients
  

• Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
  

• Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships
  

• Contributing to project strategy and problem solving
  

At Senior Planner level, you will also be expected to take on increased responsibility for project delivery, client management, and mentoring junior team members.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
  

• A strong understanding of the UK planning system
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  

• The ability to manage projects independently
  

• A proactive and commercially aware approach
  

For Senior Planner level:

• MRTPI Chartered status (or working towards Chartership)
  

• Experience managing complex planning applications
  

• Ability to support and mentor junior team members
