The Role:
As a Planner or Senior Planner, you will play a key role in shaping and executing planning strategies to secure local planning permissions and promote strategic sites through Local Plans, applications, and appeals. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to transformative developments while working with a team of dedicated professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare comprehensive reports to support planning applications, appeals, policy rep-resentations, and site appraisals.
· Monitor planning applications, appeals, and development plans across designated authorities.
· Assist senior planners and project managers in application and appeal preparation, offering strategic insights.
· Review and provide feedback on reports prepared by external consultants.
· Conduct detailed research to inform strategies for site promotion, allocation, and planning applications.
· Produce high-quality reports and representations for site promotion and planning submissions.
· Attend meetings with landowners and agents to secure new development opportu-nities.
· Undertake site visits and collaborate with local authority officers, landowners, and agents.
· Effectively manage workload to meet deadlines and priorities.
· Facilitate public engagement activities, including consultation events.
· Mentor and support Graduate Planners with constructive guidance.
About You:
· A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI membership preferred or ac-tively working towards it).
· Proven experience in planning, ideally with a focus on residential or mixed-use devel-opments.
· Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
· Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
· Excellent communication skills and confidence in stakeholder engagement.
· A strategic thinker with a detail-oriented approach and strong problem-solving abili-ties.
