Guardian delivers comprehensive fixed wiring inspection and testing services across the UK. Our clients include a wide range of blue-chip companies and public sector bodies. Drawing on extensive experience across multiple sectors – including education, manufacturing, and industrial production – Guardian ensures safe, reliable electrical compliance in even the most complex environments.

The Role:

As a Planning Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the operational and project teams with scheduling, coordination, and communication. You will assist in planning site visits, assigning engineers, tracking job progress, and ensuring that all documentation and client communication are up to date and accurate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in scheduling and allocating work to field engineers based on job priority and location


• Liaise with clients and contractors to confirm appointments and access requirements


• Monitor project timelines, ensuring deadlines and service level agreements are met


• Maintain accurate records of site activities, permits, and remedial works


• Support the preparation of reports, quotes, and compliance documents


• Work closely with the planning and compliance team to update internal systems

Experience & Knowledge Required:

• Strong organisational and time management skills


• Excellent communication – both written and verbal


• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once


• Experience with planning, scheduling, or coordination in a technical or construction environment


• IT literate – able to use Excel, email, scheduling software, and internal database

Additional Job Details:

• Full-Time Position: Available immediately.


• Hours: Contracted 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Monday to Thursday – 08:30 to 16:30

Friday – 07:30 to 15:30

• Salary: £23,809.50


• Location: Sheffield
