Planning Director Bedford

FutureGen Recruitment is representing a highly regarded
planning consultancy seeking a Planning Director to lead and grow its Bedford
operation.

This is a rare opportunity for an MRTPI planning leader to
take ownership of a region and shape long -term growth. The successful candidate
will be responsible for business development, senior client relationships, team
leadership and the delivery of major strategic housing and infrastructure -led
planning projects across the Oxford–Cambridge corridor.

The Role

This is a strategic leadership role with significant
autonomy and responsibility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting
  and delivering a regional growth strategy across Bedfordshire and the
  wider Arc
  
• Winning
  major instructions and expanding key client accounts
  
• Leading
  complex strategic housing projects and infrastructure -led schemes
  
• Managing
  senior stakeholder relationships with developers, land promoters and
  investors
  
• Overseeing
  project profitability, team resourcing and regional performance
  
• Leading
  major appeals and Local Plan examinations
  
• Recruiting,
  mentoring and developing senior planners and future leadership talent
  
• Acting
  as a visible market leader within the regional development and planning
  community
  
• Ensuring
  delivery excellence and maintaining a strong consultancy reputation
  

About You

• MRTPI
  qualified (essential)
  
• Proven
  success in winning and delivering major strategic planning instructions
  
• Strong
  leadership experience managing teams and operational performance
  
• Strong
  commercial awareness, with fee and P&L understanding
  
• Established
  network across the Oxford–Cambridge corridor
  
• Entrepreneurial
  mindset and ability to drive business growth
