Planning Manager

About the Role

Are you a strategic thinker with a knack for turning chaos into clarity? We’re looking for a Planning Manager to lead our production planning function and drive operational excellence across multiple departments. You’ll be the bridge between customer demand and manufacturing execution—ensuring every order is delivered on time, every time.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a small team, collaborate cross-functionally, and play a key part in our transition from Excel-based planning to a fully integrated MRP system.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders
• Translate demand into clear build plans for each production area
• Monitor capacity and resource availability to avoid bottlenecks
• Lead and mentor the planning team, fostering continuous improvement
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and operations to ensure alignment
• Support the implementation of a new MRP system
• Analyse performance data and drive corrective actions where needed

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• 7+ years in a manufacturing planning or scheduling role
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups)
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Desirable:

• Experience with Sage 200 and Sicon Manufacturing
• Automotive or high-volume production background
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Proven success transitioning from manual to digital planning systems
