Are you a hands-on Plant Engineer who enjoys improving equipment reliability, driving operational performance, and delivering continuous improvement projects?
We are working with a well-established manufacturing business seeking a Plant Engineer to take ownership of plant performance, maintenance strategy, and process optimisation across a busy production operation.
This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact through engineering excellence, equipment improvement, and operational efficiency.
The Opportunity
As Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, improving, and optimising plant and production equipment while supporting operational teams to achieve world-class performance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining and improving plant machinery and equipment reliability Developing and managing preventative maintenance programmes Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives Commissioning, optimising, and upgrading plant equipment Reducing downtime, waste, and operational costs Analysing equipment and process performance to identify improvement opportunities Supporting the introduction of new technologies and engineering solutions Managing contractors and ensuring compliance with site safety procedures Collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and external suppliers to deliver improvements Driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the site
About You
We are keen to speak with engineers who possess:
Previous experience as a Plant Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar Strong knowledge of plant equipment, maintenance systems, and continuous improvement methodologies Experience within a manufacturing, production, process, industrial, food, agricultural, or FMCG environment Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for engineering improvement Strong hands-on engineering skill set HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification preferred
