Plant Fitter - Experienced

A Minimum of 5 years technical maintenance experience is required to apply for this role as Plant Fitter. You will have worked on a variety of plant equipment including excavators.

Overview for Plant Fitter role:

The Senior Plant Fitter is responsible for overseeing and carrying out advanced technical maintenance, repair, and service work on plant equipment & machinery within the workshop.

We have a diverse fleet of plant equipment, ranging from excavators up to 37 ton, 30t dump trucks, telehandlers, loading shovels, crushers & screeners. The role ensures that all work is performed efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.

In addition to hands-on technical tasks, the Senior Technician will supervise, provide guidance, training, and support to the team of 10 technicians, assist in diagnosing complex faults, and contributes to continuous improvement in workshop operations and procedures.

Hours: 47.5 hours per week

Hourly rate: £20-£22 per hour dependent on experience.

Responsibilities for the job role as Plant Fitter:

• Service, repair, and maintain a wide variety of construction machinery and plant equipment.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  Perform preventative maintenance to ensure machinery reliability and safety.

• Lead and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.

• Ensure all plant is compliant with health, safety, and legal requirements.

• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.

• Support the Workshop Planner with planning maintenance schedules and equipment readiness.

• Support and supervise Workshop team 

• Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
