Plant / Maintenance Fitter

We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join a well-established company within the concrete production sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled individual to work within a busy production environment, ensuring plant equipment operates safely and efficiently.

The Role

As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery and production equipment used in the manufacture of concrete products. You will play a key role in minimising downtime and supporting continuous production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production plant and machinery

* Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on concrete production equipment

* Responding to breakdowns and carrying out timely repairs

* Maintaining conveyors, mixers, batching plants, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

* Inspecting equipment and identifying potential issues before they become critical

* Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures

* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports

* Assisting with plant improvements and installation projects when required

Requirements:

* Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or similar role

* Experience working within concrete production, manufacturing, quarrying, aggregates, recycling, or heavy industrial environments

* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills

* Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, gearbox, bearing and conveyor systems

* Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance documentation

* Self-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance

* Relevant engineering or mechanical qualifications advantageous
