Plant Operative / Telehandler / Forklift Truck Operator / FLT

Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator withproficiency in bulk handling techniques, using an FLT and/or JCB, excellent time-management skills and attention to detail is required for a recycling facility based in Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England.

SALARY: £12.25 per hour + £2.45 shift allowance per hour

LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England (WA7)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift Work)

WORKING HOURS: Days and Nights - 06:00 - 18:00 and 18:00 - 06:00 on a 3-week rolling shift pattern. Must be able to work both Day and Night shift

KEY REQUIREMENTS: You must have a Forklift / FLT and Telehandler License. Holding a JCB handling license is highly desirable.

Working as the Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator you will be responsible for a range of material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials using a Forklift Truck / FLT and a JCB, bucket work and operation of screeners / shredders, to ensure efficient processing of recycled materials.

As the Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator you will be working in a fast-paced environment where flexibility with work schedules and ability to work both Day and Night shift patterns is required to support production demands and operational requirements.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator will include:

• You will be responsible for a range of material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials using a Fork Lift Truck / FLT

• Perform bulk handling tasks using a JCB, such as bucket work and operation of screeners/shredders, to ensure efficient processing of recycled materials

• Operate machinery to oversee the recycling process, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high-quality output

• Maintain general housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment including keeping the outside yard clean and tidy. Adhering strictly to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Prioritising and promoting safety in all aspects of work

• Operate the site and production processes safely and efficiently, contributing to a commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management

• Assist with other duties as needed, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets and maintain a high standard of work

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Must have Fork Lift and Telehandler License

• Holding a JCB handling license is highly desirable

• Proficient in bulk handling techniques, with previous experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment preferred

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects within set timeframes while maintaining attention to detail and quality

• Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with colleagues with minimal supervision

• Flexibility with work schedules and ability to work all shift patterns to support production demands and operational requirements
