The Biogas Plant Operator role, reporting to the Operations Manager, involves operating and maintaining an anaerobic digester, gas conditioning equipment, and other plant systems. Key components of the facility include digesters, pumps, gas blowers, compressors, oxygen generators, chillers, condensers, and auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow and enforce company safety protocols.
• Perform general mechanical tasks such as valve replacements, motor repairs, and pipe maintenance.
• Collaborate with contractors for onsite maintenance activities like media replacements and equipment overhauls.
• Monitor anaerobic digester gas production, focusing on oxygen and hydrogen sulfide levels.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections, document performance metrics, and ensure proper functionality of all systems.
• Operate plant systems including pumps, blowers, and related equipment, adhering to company policies and manufacturer guidelines.
• Support preventative maintenance planning and execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive.
• Ability to lift, move, or push items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Maintenance or operations experience in industrial or gas processing environments is a plus.
• Relevant military training or experience in a similar field is valued.
• Familiarity with safety standards and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Quick adaptability to changing conditions.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and plant diagnostics.
• Experience with Windows-based applications like Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Work Environment:

• Industrial settings, including both indoor and outdoor work areas.
• Limited exposure to hazardous materials and fumes requires the use of appropriate PPE.
