Plater/Welder

Our client is a fast-growing manufacturer of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and fabricated equipment for sectors including Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Water Treatment and Heavy Industry. Due to continued expansion they're looking for a skilled Plater / Fabricator to join their production team in Pencoed and help deliver high-quality engineered products to customers around the world.

The Role

Cutting, grinding and laying out sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel and angle
Performing MIG and MMA tack welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
Assembling and fabricating high-quality finished products
Marking out cylinders, nozzle locations and weld preparations
Using plasma and gas cutting equipment safely and effectively
Preparing pipework, flanges and structural components for welding
Following strict health and safety procedures and PPE requirements

About You

Previous experience as a Plater, Fabricator or Metal Fabricator
Confident reading fabrication drawings and working accurately to dimensions
Experience using workshop equipment such as saws, drills, rotators, manipulators and cranes
Knowledge of pressure vessels, pipework or structural steelwork is advantageous
Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
Strong understanding of workshop safety standards and safe working practices
Forklift training is beneficial but not essential
