Source Solutions are working with a trusted and reputable employer in Portsmouth, who work on the cutting edge of technology and engineering, to recruit an exciting development position (PLC Maintenance Engineer) on a permanent basis at their main manufacturing site in Portsmouth, working with bespoke robots and automated machines.
The PLC Maintenance Engineer role requires someone well-versed in fault finding techniques (ideally electrical) and with at least a basic understanding/appreciation of PLC, who wants to learn and develop further down this route. The role will inevitably include some form of electrical engineering work where it is a hands-on role with the production machines and so experience of machine maintenance is required.
The position sits within the Software side of the Production Support team (which comprises Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers) and the main thrust of the PLC Maintenance role is to carry out PLC (and related electronic) fault finding, diagnostics and rectification on in-service machines, whilst also actively seeking improved performance and efficiency of the robots and machines through PLC development.

PLC Maintenance Engineer profile:
* Experience of fault-finding on production machinery (ideally electrical or electro-mechanical)
* Some appreciation of PLC, how it works and some basics of reading PLC
* Ability to learn and adapt
