Plumber

As one of the leading agency suppliers to the HM Prison Service, for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Plumber at HMP Warren Hill Prison.

The duties for this position will consist of:
Carrying out varied duties such as reactive repairs, small, planned projects and maintenance.
To complete plumbing installations, testing, and commissioning in adherence with statutory regulations, industry best practice and Health and Safety procedures
To maintain regular communications, via radio net, in accordance with LSS
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment through regular checking and testing of heating appliances and installations in accordance with relevant legislation.
To undertake incidental and emergency or urgent tasks and assignments as per Prison Service Specifications timescales, in a safe manner.
The prison services are looking for applications with:

Plumbers qualify at C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) or NVQ level 3 in Plumbing.
To be registered with gas safely is desirable but not essential.
Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
Must be familiar with and able to work for Water Supply HRES/FRM/05095 SEPTEMBER 2019
Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements

This does start as a temporary role, although you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position and, in general, these roles tend to be long-term, given you are working with the existing maintenance team who are already based on site.
You will be working Monday to Friday 39 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday - 8am-4pm.
The hourly rate is £24 an hour, with an overtime rate available via umbrella.
Due to the nature of the environment, you will be asked to complete the standard Security Vetting for the establishments.
