Plumbing and Heating Supervisor Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Warwickshire Full Time | Permanent | PAYE Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Company Van
The Role,
We are recruiting an experienced Plumbing and Heating Supervisor on behalf of a growing residential contractor operating across the East and South East Midlands. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating plumbing and heating operatives across 3–4 active sites, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to an experienced plumber who is ready to take the next step into a management position, or someone already operating at supervisor level looking for a new challenge with a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising and coordinating plumbing and heating operatives across 3–4 active sites
Ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the required standard
Carrying out regular site visits, inspections and QA checks
Liaising with site managers, contracts managers and clients, providing regular progress updates
Coordinating first fix, second fix, finals and commissioning activities
Monitoring labour resources, attendance, timekeeping and productivity
Ensuring compliance with current regulations, risk assessments and method statements
Conducting monthly Toolbox Talks and promoting a safety-first culture
Monitoring material usage, stock levels and approving material call-offs
Reviewing subcontractor invoices and timesheets, verifying works prior to payment approval
Identifying and reporting variations, defects and additional works
Maintaining accurate site records, QA documentation and updating company systems including Priceworx
Identifying potential delays and implementing recovery plans
Escalating commercial, quality and programme concerns to management where required
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Plumbing and Heating Supervisor or experienced Plumber looking to step up
Previous plumbing and heating experience — residential new build preferred
SMSTS or SSSTS qualification (essential)
Strong understanding of current plumbing regulations and installation standards
Ability to manage and motivate operatives across multiple sites simultaneously
Excellent communication skills — confident liaising with site managers, clients and management
Competent with IT systems and reporting tools including Priceworx
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable:
Gas qualifications
Unvented cylinder qualification
ASHP or renewable energy experience
Experience coordinating first fix, second fix and commissioning programmes
Package:
Salary of £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
Company van provided
Permanent PAYE position
