Job Description - Plumbing Lecturer

Lecturer - Plumbing
  • Location: Cambridge
  • Salary: £28,385 - £41,782 per annum
  • Contract Type: Permanent, Full Year
  • Hours: 37 per week
  • Annual Leave: 42 days per annum

Reed is supporting a prestigious educational institution in Cambridge in their search for a dedicated Lecturer in Plumbing. This role offers the opportunity to shape the futures of students by providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences within the Construction & Building Services Department.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a variety of programs to students of diverse ages and abilities.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, including handouts, assignments, and electronic resources.
  • Prepare and implement Schemes of Work and Assessment.
  • Conduct moderation and verification activities.
  • Integrate Maths and English into the vocational curriculum.
  • Act as a course tutor, supporting learners in achieving their educational targets.
  • Participate in the recruitment and admission of new students and contribute to promotional activities.
  • Maintain professional standards and comply with college policies, including those relating to health and safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
Candidate Profile:
  • Must hold a minimum of a Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing.
  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Desirable: Certificate in Education/PGCE/DTLLS, Assessor qualifications (A1 or equivalent), and Internal Verification qualification (V1 or equivalent).
  • Substantial, recent, and relevant industrial experience in Plumbing.
  • Proficient in current health & safety practices relevant to the industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and travel independently to various college centers.
