About the Role
The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Beckfoot Trust to recruit a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to support pupils at Hazelbeck School.
Hazelbeck School is a specialist provision for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), alongside complex needs including autism, sensory impairments, and communication needs.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education, where you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs to access learning, develop communication, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD Support pupils’ EHCP targets and personalised learning programmes Assist with a range of communication strategies, including PECS, Makaton, and other alternative communication systems Support sensory-based learning activities and engagement Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and wellbeing Assist with personal care and physical support needs where required Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children or adults with PMLD or complex SEN needs (education, care, or support settings) A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures A willingness to support personal care and medical needs A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs Why Join The Supply Register?
