Polish Technician – Pontypool £14.52 – £16.70 per hour | Temporary Ongoing | Immediate Start Available
Nu Staff are recruiting for a Polish Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Pontypool. This is an ongoing temporary opportunity within a busy production environment, working within the paint/quality function to rectify surface finish on parts.
As a Polish Technician, you'll rectify paint on parts using a machine operated polisher, drawing on your understanding of sanding materials and polishing processes to correct surface defects and contamination.
Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday: 7:00AM – 4:00PM Friday: 7:00AM – 1:00PM
Possible Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday rotating shifts:
6:00AM – 2:00PM 2:00PM – 10:00PM Pay Rates
£14.52 – £16.70 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Rectifying paint on parts using a machine operated polisher, with the ability to hand polish to requirements Preparing surfaces and rectifying paint contaminants (paint inclusions, orange peel etc.), using your paint expertise to find solutions Paying close attention to detail to maintain the aesthetic standards of the product Following an established process, suggesting improvements that benefit overall quality Working to strict deadlines that impact overall productivity levels Ensuring effective supply and movement of parts/products to and from the section Completing process documentation as required in line with build instructions Working with the paint department to rectify quality issues Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and hygiene at all times Following all Health & Safety procedures at all times Requirements
Demonstrable experience correcting surface defects and contamination Experience and understanding of paint thickness measurements and paint finishes External paint detailing and surface finishing corrective actions Experience and understanding of paint processing advantageous Automotive trade certificate in a related discipline (machine polishing / vehicle detailing) advantageous Good understanding of quality improvement and continuous improvement principles Numerate with good oral and written communication skills Able to work under pressure and prioritise own workload Positive, proactive, can-do attitude Location
Pontypool – must be able to commute reliably
