The Role
As a Service Charge Accountant, you will manage end-to-end service charge accounting for a dedicated property portfolio, working closely with Property Managers, clients, and auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare year-end service charge accounts following RICS Codes of Practice and ARMA rules.
Manage accruals, prepayments, developer voids, income splits, and balancing adjustments.
Coordinate client audits, submit VAT returns to HMRC, and issue Section 20b notices.
Resolve complex accounting queries with property managers, freeholders, and RMCs.
Assist with the financial on boarding of newly acquired properties.
What We Are Looking For
Experience as a Service Charge Accountant, Portfolio Accountant, or Block Property Accountant.
Strong knowledge of residential property management regulations (RICS, ARMA-Q).
Hands-on experience with property accounting systems (e.g., Qube, Yardi, Tramps) and MS Excel.
Excellent numerical precision, time management, and communication skills.
