REED Technology are delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation undergoing a significant transformation programme to recruit a Portfolio Analyst.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established Portfolio Office supporting a complex portfolio of strategic change initiatives. The organisation is delivering a wide-ranging transformation agenda focused on service improvement, organisational efficiency, financial sustainability and long-term business change.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, programme teams and portfolio leadership, you will play a key role in supporting governance, portfolio reporting, benefits realisation and assurance activities across a diverse programme landscape.
Responsibilities
As Portfolio Analyst, you will help establish and embed portfolio governance processes, maintain a clear view of programme performance, and provide meaningful insight to support strategic decision-making.
You will be involved in:
Supporting portfolio governance meetings, boards and review forums Tracking programme progress, risks, dependencies and key milestones Monitoring the delivery of benefits, outcomes and savings initiatives Producing portfolio-level reporting, dashboards and management information Providing assurance and challenge to ensure programmes remain on track Supporting project gateway reviews and investment decision-making Working with stakeholders across the organisation to maintain accurate portfolio data Contributing to the development of portfolio management standards, processes and best practice Supporting prioritisation and resource planning activities across multiple programmesSkills & Experience
Experience working as a Portfolio Analyst, PMO Analyst, Programme Analyst or similar role Strong portfolio reporting and governance experience Experience producing management information and performance reporting Knowledge of programme and project lifecycle methodologies Experience tracking risks, issues, dependencies and benefits realisation Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability Advanced Excel skills and experience working with reporting toolsDesirable Experience
Experience supporting large-scale business transformation programmes Public sector, local government, NHS or regulated-sector experience Experience of portfolio assurance, stage-gate reviews or portfolio governance frameworks Knowledge of portfolio management tools such as Verto, Power BI, MS Project or similarIf you're an experienced Portfolio or PMO professional looking for your next contract opportunity and enjoy working within complex transformation environments, we'd love to hear from you.
