Power Systems Electrical Engineer

We’re creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.

But we’re not stopping there. We’re also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for electrifying their homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours, and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability - a critical foundation for scaling AI data centers and other energy-intensive industries.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design and delivery of power systems across Fuse’s renewable energy, data center and connections work from LV to EHV
• Develop detailed electrical design packages, including single line diagrams (SLDs), protection and control schemes, equipment layouts, cable schedules and earthing/bonding designs
• Perform power system studies, covering load flow, fault level, protection coordination, harmonic and dynamic stability analysis
• Lead grid connection applications and compliance submissions and ensure compliance with all relevant UK Grid Code and G99 requirements
• Review OEM, EPC and vendor documentation for technical compliance, grid integration capability and interface consistency
• Develop and maintain internal design standards, study templates and calculation tools to ensure technical consistency and efficiency across projects

• You hold a degree in Electrical or Power Engineering
• You bring at least 3 years’ experience in HV power system design for substations, grid connections or renewable projects
• You have a strong understanding of HV/LV systems, grid code compliance and UK connection standards. Other markets are a plus
• You’re proficient in power system modelling tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD or IPSA.
• You combine analytical rigour with practical engineering judgement, translating simulations and studies into real-world designs.
