Job Introduction DMG:Media are looking to recruit a talented Microsoft PowerBI Developer to join their growing Data & Analytics function to focus on implementing new, and improving existing, reporting and analysis capabilities across the group.

Being an accomplished PowerBI specialist, the candidate will provide ongoing Business support and continuous improvement/development of reporting & dashboards across multiple famous brands, including the world’s largest English language news site, MailOnline. This is a brilliant opportunity to join an established and growing team where you will get the opportunity to work on developing and supporting BI reporting across the enterprise. The candidate will be a subject matter expert (SME) in the development of PowerBI reporting and provide guidance on improving existing reports, develop new reports & pipelines and upskill the wider Analytics team in the use of PowerBI and DAX. The candidate will be responsible for understanding sets of detailed business requirements, from a range of stakeholders and translating these into intuitive and accurate reporting & dashboards effectively using PowerBI Desktop, Report Builder and PBI Service. They will also be responsible for defect investigation, analysis, triage and resolution. The candidate will manage the PowerBI deliverables through a delivery lifecycle utilising PowerBI deployment pipeline. As well as managing role-level security across multiple workspaces and environments.

Main Responsibilities Take a lead role in the utilisation of PowerBI and take ownership of reporting and data requirement endeavours to support the daily operations of DMG:Media Brands (such as MailOnline, Metro, This is Money etc) across its range of internal and external platforms (web site, apps, social platforms etc.). Develop, publish and provision reports & dashboards for various departments across the enterprise. Determine and ensure correct data sets and flows for existing, and new projects & initiatives. Ensure the completeness, quality, consistency and presentation of data used for PowerBI Reporting using data derived different systems. Engage with various business units such as editorial, technical, commercial, SEO, etc. to understand datasets and ensure reliability of reporting whilst providing feedback/recommendations to stakeholders to improve quality. Evaluate historical / new data streams to ensure consistency when translating to business results. Maintain, monitor and improve regular reports for various stakeholders. Be a self-starter who works on initiative and not on direction Role is focused on the development of PowerBI as a strategic platform for the group.

Person Specification 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft PowerBI, building reports and dashboards, as well as defining and creating data models. Strong and demonstrable experience in Power BI visualizations; creating models and reports in Power BI Desktop along with associated languages (DAX, M). High level of demonstrable technical knowledge of Power BI, from implementation, architecture, data organisation and security/access management. Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Azure and GCP platforms. Demonstrably good technical understanding regarding data models, data flows, databases and data migration. Be able to query, trace & analyse databases and data warehouses/Lakes. Be able to document business logic or data calculations as part of analysis activity. Expert technical SQL skills to enable querying and understanding of the datasets. Ability to proactively collaborate with the Analytics Team to ensure the successful delivery of PBI deliverables, including providing regular status updates and maintaining current insights on resource utilization and requirements. Ability to support a consistent project management methodology, ensuring PBI development activities adhere to appropriate governance standards, including comprehensive project documentation. Ideally you will have had experience of working within a large enterprise, ideally in Media/Publishing. Experience of other BI tools such as Tableau advantageous. Familiarity with Google Analytics or alternative web analytics platform data would be a bonus Ability to self-learn and acquire expertise rapidly in own and other related fields. Ability to remain calm and deliver to deadline. Confident, motivated, proactive, focussed on business objectives and a strong communicator. Ability to think data end-to-end. Strong people skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels Natural curiosity and desire to succeed!
