Why now

It has been a big year for MHP Tech. We have won a series of new accounts, from well-established AI cloud providers to rapidly growing stablecoin businesses and AI orchestrations startups, and the pipeline is the busiest it has been. We need senior hires to lead some of that work and help us build for the future.

Role overview

We are looking for a senior client leader with a real appetite for new business, someone who is as comfortable advising a CMO as they are writing and presenting a winning pitch.

This is a senior client-facing role at Account Director or Associate Director level, depending on experience. You will lead a portfolio of clients day to day, sit on the practice’s senior leadership team and play a central part in new business. We are looking for two things:

• A strong client leader. Someone senior clients trust and enjoy working with, who runs accounts well and looks for ways to grow them.

• A natural at new business. Someone who enjoys finding opportunities, writing proposals and pitching, and who wants to play a real part in growing the team.

As an Account Director / Associate Director at MHP Group, you will:

Lead clients

• Be the day-to-day lead across a portfolio of tech clients, and the final check on everything that goes out the door

• Counsel senior clients, from heads of comms to CMOs and CEOs, with a clear point of view on their business, their market and the news agenda

• Land the big moments: Tier 1 coverage, executive profiling, launches, data-led campaigns and thought leadership

• Build programmes tied to clients’ commercial goals, and show them clearly what the work delivered

• Grow accounts by bringing ideas and new scope to clients before they ask

• Keep a close eye on budgets, hours and over-servicing so accounts are profitable as well as happy

Win new business

• Open doors: work your network, spot prospects and follow up on leads fast

• Lead pitches with the senior team, from strategy and creative through to writing the proposal and presenting in the room

• Pull in MHP’s wider specialists when a brief needs more than PR

Build the team

• Line manage and coach junior colleagues, and set the standard for writing and media work

• Help decide where the practice goes next as part of the senior leadership team

You will:

• Have six or more years’ tech PR experience, ideally agency side (more for Associate Director)

• Have a track record of leading senior client relationships and growing accounts

• Have proof you have won new business: pitches led, proposals written, revenue brought in

• Have real curiosity about technology, and the knack of explaining complicated things simply

• Have strong relationships across national, business and technology trade media

• Have excellent writing, whether that is a press release, an opinion piece or a proposal

• Have a commercial sense: you know how an account makes money and how to keep it that way

• Have confidence using AI tools every day for research, drafting and monitoring. That is how we work, and we want people who will push it further

And in return, we offer:

• Excellent starting salary with annual reviews

• 25 days holiday allowance (+ bank holidays), a day off to celebrate your Birthday, ‘Time4U’ every month and office Christmas closure

• Life Assurance

Here at MHP Group, we are committed to creating an inclusive and a diverse workforce.
