Practice Bookkeeper

A well-established firm of accountants based in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong bookkeeping skills and a working knowledge of Xero to play a key role in supporting clients across a range of sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality bookkeeping services, maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, and assisting with year-end accounts preparation. The role offers a varied and interesting workload within a supportive practice environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for a range of clients
• Using Xero to manage and reconcile accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts
• Communicating with clients to resolve queries and ensure accurate record-keeping

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
