Job Description - Practice Manager / Business Development Manager


Are you an experienced and dynamic professional looking for a leadership role in the dental industry? 





We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Business Practice Manager to join our clients growing team. As the Dental Business Practice Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our dental practice, while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining a positive work environment.





The right candidate will be joining a thriving, modern, 6 surgery practice that is committed to the professional development of all team members, celebrating the success and continued expansion of the dental practice as a full team effort. Each team member is a vital member of the practice and team and will be carrying out their role under the supervision of a strong and supportive leadership team with a core mission to deliver a high standard, efficient and effective level of patient care. 





The ideal candidate will have a warm, friendly, and enthusiastic personality with a natural flare for leadership. We are looking for a real team player to maintain the practice's exceptional reputation of serving the local community for over 60 years. You will actively continue to build on the supportive and family-feel team culture that the practice has achieved. The practice will nurture any skills, strengths, experiences, and areas of interest that you may have, and use these to plan for career advancement, given extended duties and responsibilities aiming toward promotion and growth opportunities. 





The ideal candidate will have:







  • Excellent communication skills, organisational ability and attention to detail


  • A strong commitment to high standards of care and infection control


  • Exceptional leadership skills to be able to manage and inspire a team of clinicians and administrators


Responsibilities:



  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the dental practice, including front desk administration, scheduling, billing, and inventory management.


  • Develop and implement effective office policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity.


  • Supervise and provide leadership to the dental office staff, ensuring clear communication, teamwork, and high performance.


  • Coordinate patient scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times, while ensuring excellent customer service and patient satisfaction.


  • Manage financial aspects of the practice, including budgeting, billing, insurance claims, and financial reporting.


  • Implement marketing strategies to attract new patients and retain existing ones, collaborating with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.


  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.


  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, professional development, and a culture of exceptional patient care.


  • Handle patient complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues to ensure patient satisfaction.


  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and training to staff members as needed.


  • Work closely with the Principal Dentist to grow the practice and team. 


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field (preferred).


  • Proven experience in a dental practice management role, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.


  • In-depth knowledge of dental office operations, including scheduling, billing, insurance claims, and regulatory compliance.


  • Proficient in dental practice management software and computer systems.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.


  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.


  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and patient acquisition techniques is a plus.


  • Familiarity with social media platforms.


  • Proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
