Vela Medical Group is currently recruiting an experienced Practice Nurse to join a welcoming and well-established GP surgery in Chorley.

The Role

As a Practice Nurse, you'll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a busy GP surgery. You'll work autonomously while collaborating closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

* Chronic disease management, including asthma, COPD and diabetes reviews

* Immunisations and vaccinations

* Cervical cytology (where qualified)

* Wound care and dressings

* NHS Health Checks

* ECGs and other routine clinical procedures

* Travel vaccinations (where applicable)

* Health promotion and patient education

* Supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within the GP surgery

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, you should have:

* Current NMC registration

* Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within a GP surgery

* Experience running chronic disease clinics

* Competency in immunisations and vaccinations

* Cervical cytology experience (desirable)

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* A patient-centred approach to care

* Experience using GP clinical systems such as EMIS Web or SystmOne is advantageous
