Pre Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing multidisciplinary contracting business based in Bedford who work across interiors, property refurbishments, fit-out and electrical works.

The successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of the pre-construction phase, ensuring projects are effectively planned, costed, and prepared for successful delivery.

This role will take ownership of estimating (up to £3m), tender submissions, programme development, risk identification and liaising with clients, consultants, and internal delivery teams to secure and mobilise new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the full pre-construction process from enquiry through to project handover.

* Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender pricing, and bid submissions.

* Coordinate design, planning, and technical information.

* Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.

* Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

* Support business development by contributing to successful tender strategies.

* Ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to operational delivery.

Requirements:

* Previous experience in a pre-construction, estimating, or bid management role within the construction industry.

* Strong commercial awareness and estimating skills.

* Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

* Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
