The Opportunity

Avolon M&E are working with an established and highly respected Mechanical & Electrical contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their growing team.

Our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging M&E projects across London and the South East, specialising in commercial refurbishment, plant replacement, infrastructure upgrades and complex building services installations.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially established, forward-thinking contractor with a strong pipeline of work, where you will play an important role in the early stages of project delivery.

The Role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing the pre-construction process, ensuring projects are properly planned, technically coordinated and commercially viable before progressing into the construction phase.

You will work closely with the estimating, design, commercial and operational teams, as well as clients and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the pre-construction stages of mechanical and electrical building services projects.

*

Oversee tender submissions, bid preparation and technical proposals.

*

Work closely with estimating teams to review costs, specifications and project requirements.

*

Coordinate design development, identifying potential technical challenges and opportunities for value engineering.

*

Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.

*

Review project programmes, procurement strategies and construction methodologies.

*

Identify and manage risks during the pre-construction phase.

*

Ensure a smooth transition from tender award through to project mobilisation and delivery.

*

Support the development of client relationships and future business opportunities.

About You

We are looking for an experienced M&E professional with a strong technical understanding of building services and a proven background in pre-construction, estimating, design management or project delivery.

Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience in a Pre-Construction Manager, Technical Manager, Design Manager or senior M&E project management position.

*

A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services installations.

*

Experience working for an M&E contractor or building services specialist.

*

Knowledge of tendering, procurement, project planning and commercial processes.

*

Experience coordinating design teams, consultants and subcontractors.

*

Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

*

The ability to identify technical and commercial risks before projects commence.

Experience delivering commercial refurbishment, plant replacement, infrastructure upgrades or projects within live operational environments would be particularly beneficial.
