JOB DESCRIPTION
Grade UE06 £32,982 - £38,205 per annum
Printing Services, Procurement, University of Edinburgh Finance Department
Full Time 35 Hours per week
Fixed Term 12 Month Contract

The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pre-Press Designer to work within the Printing Services team, carrying out a wide range of design and pre-press tasks. Duties will include working to customers’ specifications and with university brand guidelines to prepare artwork files for production printing and for digital use. Giving design advice and support to colleagues and customers, helping develop our service and contributing towards the creative activities of the university and our external customers.

Your skills and attributes for success


HND or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, plus at least previous, relevant experience of working in a similar environment


Thorough knowledge of pre-press production processes within the print and design industry


Excellent IT skills, particularly in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Professional), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and imposition software


Experience of designing and producing artwork for a wide range of printed materials eg. stationery, leaflets, booklets, posters, large format display work, forme cut products, variable data products


Attention to detail and accuracy


Good written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
