Salary: £23.50 PAYE per hour

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an experienced Press Officer to join our client based in Bristol or London. This role is offered on a full time, hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

The Press Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, supporting senior leadership engagement, monitoring external developments, and ensuring insights are effectively shared across the organisation.

The duties of the Press Officer will include;

Ensuring press releases, articles, letters and other media content are drafted as required to tight deadlines
Ensuring high profile and complex queries from the media are accurately and speedily handled, using judgement and autonomy as appropriate
Using your judgement and skills in order to produce effective press releases and other associated media materials for the production of official statistics where they will often be the only member of the directorate with pre-release access
Ensuring press conferences and media briefings are organised
Ensuring senior leaders are effectively briefed and accompanied to media interviews - in London and other locations within England as required
Ensuring communications campaigns are planned effectively and well evaluated in collaboration with colleagues across the external relations directorate
Contribution to crisis communications are delivered as necessary.
Strategic communications for specific organisation projects and campaigns are supported.
Handling all social media content for the organisations including LinkedIn and Instagram

The Press Officer will ideally have:

Previous experience in a similar role
Experience preparing briefings, reports, correspondence or communications for senior audiences.
Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams and functions

The Press Officer will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
